“The hotel is great and I would consider a trip to Joburg just to stay there; however, a few quibles do exist. Paying for broadband? South Africa is pretty advanced so a premium doesn't seem justified, especially when you are so generous with shuttle buses, etc. I would also add that the bathrooms seem more modern than the rooms. The rooms could be a touch less twee but they are very comfortable. The selection of wine by the glass is a very nice journey through SA wine. Great! The food in the restaurant could be modernised slightly. It seems a little heavy and tradional French - but good value!”

“The Westcliff was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in for a long time. The one criticism that U have was the fact that one of the restaurants (the Polo Grill) was closed for a private event one night. The management neglected to tell guests ahead of time, which was unfortunate. The only alternative was the "fancy" restaurant or room service. The hotel should have notified guests ahead of time, and been particularly attentive to the difficulty single guests have going "outside" to eat, espceically in Johannesburg that is known for crime in the evening.”
