“Half of our stay in Sydney was at Medusa, half was at another hotel--could not regret that choice more in retrospect, Medusa was way far and above the other experience. Great service, excellent location, interesting design.”

“The Medusa is excellent and I'll definitely stay there again. I would have liked an elevator as I had a very heavy suitcase and the lack of any restaurant could have been seen as a problem but there are tons of great restaurants within easy walking distance so it is an advantage - it forces you to get out and find them!”

“I was very disappointed with this hotel. The medusa is regarded as a very tony hotel, but in my opinion it is a dump without exception. I have no idea why it is so highly rated, there is really nothing to recommend this place other than its location which is in a very interesting neighborhood. The staff are friendly and helpful, and for this reason i am reluctant to be so severe in my assessment, but really i would never stay in such a place. Medusa is nothing more than a townhouse converted into a small hotel. It was difficult to sleep as I would hear toilets, fans, water running, etc.”

“the room we had at the medusa was on the small side, but it was still nice. had to get used to the 'shutter' doors - i like my privacy and it was strange to have shutters as doors. both the room and bathroom windows opened right into the alley so again no privacy when the window shutters were open. the bathroom would have been perfect except their standard shower leaked all over the bathroom floor and it was left soaked until room service came and mopped it up. loved the central location of the hotel - easy to get anywhere worth going from darlinghurst.”

“I really liked the hotel. It was in a good neighborhood with great restuarants, but not much else beyond that. The hotel in the pictures appeared much more new that it actually was, which i felt was kind of deceiving. I thought the room needed a little color spruce up. Like the rugs are getting a little dark, and the bed spreads were almost dirty looking (even though i KNEW they weren't!); it may have just been the chosen color (tan/brownish). The rooms are also smaller than expected. VERY boutique-y in that regard. However, the men at the front desk are SO nice and helpful!!”

“The Medusa is located in a great neighborhood. The hotel itself is quaint and modern. The best part, by far, was the staff. They were all terrific - friendly and pleasant, ready to help with anything (bar/restaurant recommendations, shopping, transportation, etc.). They even let us store our primary luggage with them for one night after we left - no problems. I would highly recommend the Medusa to anyone.”

“we were both uninspired by the medusa. the reception was very friendly and the staff were perfectly nice, but the room wasn't anything special and the bathroom was a real disappointment. we were actually really surprised that it was a tablet hotel once we'd arrived, certainly wouldn't recommend it.”

“Loved the location - residential area, NO tourists, great choice of cafe's & restaurants ... the MEDUSA allowed us to experience Sydney from an insiders perspective.Add to all that, the hotel itself is real gem - lovely renovated house, everything one could ask for when visiting the city.”
