This shrine, founded in 711 AD, is one of Kyoto's oldest Shinto shrines. It is dedicated to Inari, the god of rice, sake, and prosperity. The shrine itself is spectacular, with 10,000 small torii (shrine gates) leading up to the entrance and a beautiful view of Kyoto from the top.
